Triple Top and Triple Bottom
Three tests of the same level show strong supply or demand.
A triple top has three peaks at nearly the same level, with two troughs between them. It shows repeated rejection and often leads to a decline once support breaks.
A triple bottom is the opposite. Because the level was tested three times, a break often moves with strength, but the pattern takes a long time to form.
Volume usually falls as the pattern develops and rises on the breakout.
Key takeaways
- Three tests of the same level
- Break of support (top) or resistance (bottom) confirms
