Stochastic Oscillator
Compares the close with the recent high-low range to show momentum.
The stochastic oscillator shows where the close sits within the high-low range of the last N periods (commonly 14). Readings above 80 suggest the close is near the high of the range, below 20 near the low.
It has two lines, %K and %D. A %K cross of %D in the extreme zones is a common signal. It works well in ranges and gives early, noisy signals in trends.
Use the higher timeframe trend to filter: in an uptrend take only bullish crosses from oversold.
